If you have lost your original driving licence, you can apply for a duplicate licence online. It will be printed as a smart card and sent to your registered address.

Step-by-Step Guide: Duplicate DL Application

Follow these official procedures to submit your application on the Sarathi portal:

  1. Go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select your State.
  2. Select **"Services on DL (Renewal/Duplicate/Aed/Others)"** from the main dashboard.
  3. Enter your **DL Number** and **Date of Birth** to pull your record.
  4. Select the check box for **"Issue of Duplicate DL"** and provide the reason (e.g. Lost, Destroyed, Defaced).
  5. Upload required files: **Copy of LLD Form**, **FIR or Police Lost Report** (Mandatory if licence is lost or stolen), and address proof.
  6. Submit the application and pay the required duplicate processing fee online.

Required Documents for Duplicate DL

  • Police FIR/Lost Report: Essential if your licence was stolen or misplaced.
  • Form LLD: Form for application of duplicate licence (can be downloaded online).
  • Damaged Smart Card: If you are applying because the card was torn/soiled.
  • Identity and Address Proof: Aadhaar Card, Passport, or PAN card.
