How to Renew Driving Licence Online (Step-by-Step)

You can submit a renewal request up to one year before expiry or within one year after expiry. Follow this workflow:

  1. Visit the official portal sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select your State.
  2. Go to the **"Apply for DL Renewal"** option under the services menu.
  3. Enter your **Licence Number** and **Date of Birth** to load your data.
  4. Fill out the application details and choose your state/RTO.
  5. Upload required files: **Original Expired DL**, **Address Proof**, and **Form 1A (Medical Certificate)** (Mandatory if you are over 40 years old).
  6. Pay the online application fee and print the receipt.

Required Documents Checklist

  • Original Expiring/Expired Driving Licence
  • Form 1 (Self-declaration physical fitness for applicants under 40)
  • Form 1A (Medical Certificate issued by registered doctor for applicants over 40)
  • Passport-sized photographs
