Lost your vehicle RC? Or maybe you just want a safe digital copy on your phone? Don't worry! You can easily download your official Registration Certificate (RC) as a PDF using government-approved apps like DigiLocker or the Parivahan portal. Let's walk through it together!
Method 1: Download RC via DigiLocker (The Easiest Way!)
We highly recommend using DigiLocker. It's a secure app created by the Government of India. The best part? Traffic police across India accept DigiLocker documents just like the real physical smart cards (thanks to the IT Act)!
Here is how you can get your RC PDF in two minutes:
- 1. First, download the DigiLocker app on your phone (or go to digilocker.gov.in).
- 2. Create an account or sign in using your Aadhaar number and phone OTP.
- 3. Tap on the "Search Documents" bar and type "Registration of Vehicles".
- 4. You will see an option for the "Ministry of Road Transport and Highways". Tap on it.
- 5. Now, carefully type in your Vehicle Registration Number (your number plate) and your Chassis Number (you can find this on your insurance papers).
- 6. Click "Get Document". Boom! Your verified RC PDF will instantly appear in your "Issued Documents" folder. You can show this directly to the traffic police.
Method 2: Get Your RC from the Vahan Portal
If you don't want to use an app, you can also download your RC straight from the official Parivahan Sewa website. Here’s what you need to do:
- 1. Open your browser and go to the official website: vahan.parivahan.gov.in.
- 2. Choose the State and RTO (Regional Transport Office) where you bought your vehicle.
- 3. Look for the "Download Document" button on the menu and click on "RC Print (Form 23)".
- 4. The system will ask for three things: your vehicle number, chassis number, and engine number.
- 5. Once you enter them, you'll get an OTP on your registered mobile number. Type it in, and your digital RC PDF will be ready to download!
